CNN has hit back at President Trump for calling them out on being a poor representation of the US to the world at large, they say that representing is his job and that theirs is to report the news. But are they right, or is the president?
It began when President Trump Tweeted this:
“FoxNews is MUCH more important in the United States than CNN, but outside of the U.S., CNN International is still a major source of (Fake) news, and they represent our Nation to the WORLD very poorly. The outside world does not see the truth from them!”
And he is absolutely right. People around the world don't get access to places like Fox news, but in every Chinese hotel room, you can pick up CNN. And what are they showing the world? Pettiness, slants, and biased coverage that doesn't accurately represent what is happening in the US.
CNN responded with this:
“It's not CNN's job to represent the U.S to the world. That's yours. Our job is to report the news. #FactsFirst”
They say that their job is to “report the news,” and this they don't do. They report their opinion, their narrative, and their particular vision. What they don't do is report the actual news.
The CNN brand is so tarnished in America, yet the rest of the world hasn't caught up to the fact that millions of Americans call it the “Clinton News Network,” they still think it is a real news agency…Trump nailed it!
