The media loves to portray Donald Trump as many things. They liken him to a dictator, a madman and an idiot. But the latest attack comes in an accusation of him being sociopathic (defines as one who feels no empathy). The basis for this is a photograph of a note he was holding in his hand that showed some talking points.
The NYT and others ran like the wind with this to suggest that President Trump cannot feel empathy for other people. It is part of a larger character assassination plot against him. But the reality is very much different.
The parents of one of the teenagers tragically killed in the Florida shootings had some surprising words about their personal visit with the president:
“He showed us nothing but love,” Mr. Pollack, father of the murdered teenager said. “The guy really cared, you know? He flew us in, he had a bus waiting for us, he made time for us.”
“He took pictures of my daughter that we brought, and he said he was going to look at it every day,” he said.
“He just said, ‘You guys are coming with me,’ and we were just talking about life as we walked,” Mr. Pollack said. “He’s a regular guy. I wouldn’t have been there if I didn’t think he cared.”
Does this sound like a person who needs “empathy cards”?
