The well-known New York-based rapper, Cardi B was asked to leave her hotel in Albany after reports of a”weed smell” and partying were reported about her and her entourage's rooms. In true classy style, the first response she came up with was to accuse all of Albany of being racist.
She denies that she was smoking weed, and although the police were called, nobody was arrested (and the group was, in fact, packing their bags before the police showed up). So is this a question of her word against the hotels? And was the hotel suggesting it was her group smoking weed actually racists?
She is a rapper, she has managers, security, DJs, and dancers staying with her. Did not one person in the group (who according to her, none of them smoke weed) think to challenge this? Does she not have multiple high-priced lawyers at her beck and call to deal with situations just like this?
Consider this: If you (regardless of your color) are accused of something that you know full well you didn't do (and of course could prove very easily with an onsite drug test), would you not say something like “actually it's not me. I have a lawyer. Let's prove this once and for all.” Or would you start packing your bags and leave whilst calling everyone “racist mother*****!”
She may well be innocent, but her actions were not the actions of a person who has nothing to hide. And her language and accusations were unmerited. She should apologize.
