President Donald Trump is well underway with his grand tour of Asian nations. So far he has visited Japan and South Korea. Today, he is in China where he will be afforded an honor never before given to an American president. Donald Trump will have an official state dinner within the walls of Beijing's Forbidden City.
This marks increasingly warm relations with the Chinese government. Essentially, they are trying their best to flatter the president, and it will likely work. This is a huge honor that speaks volumes about the kind of relationship developing between the two super-powers.
Ming Wang, a government and politics professor, gave a candid evaluation of the honor. He said that China “will give Trump an exceptional reception, essentially they'll try to make Trump happy — that will work to China's advantage.” And that Chinese President “(Xi's) going to treat Trump almost like an emperor.”
One thing is becoming increasingly clear during President Trump's Asian tour: IN terms of dealing with foreign governments, Trump can really knock it out of the park!
His tour began with a two-day visit to Japan where he cemented the already close relationship with freshly re-elected Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The two men seem to share a closeness that is rarely seen in modern politics. He then went on to South Korea, where despite attempts by a CBS reporter to try and undermine and embarrass the president (and the USA), Trump was the very picture of dignity.
When will the left realize that trying to hurt the president only hurts the US?
